Ukraine replied with one of the biggest attacks using drones seen during the war, strike strategic objectives of Russia such as power stations and an oil refinery. During the night time attack, 158 drones were deployed and started fires and destroyed property at several places. Moscow’s air defense said that the drones were targeted and destroyed but the collision was forceful enough to elicit this reaction.
In response, Russian forces fired missiles at the north eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv which included a shopping mall an events centre. The attack which was a terrible one left 47 persons injured, of which 5 are children. People were running around to aid the injured whereas the others tried to seek refuge at nearest shelter which were the metro stations.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine countered that by demanding his partners in the West supply him with more potent weaponry, allowing Ukraine to penetrate further into Russian territory. He urged the leaders of the world to stand with Ukraine and Exhibit bravery to support the country fight off the continuous aggression from Russia.
With change in changes continuing for the third year now, the conflict remains sensitive, and Russia’s forces escalate in eastern Ukraine. There is also rising concern about changes to the Russian nuclear policy as the violent situation unfolds thereby further deepening the conflict.
