The nature of recruitment of employees in today’s world is highly complex, organized and embarks on the use of technology and other essential methods of identifying and sourcing employees. Lina Bil who is the founder and CEO of Elevate Recruitment and Elevate Talent Solutions recently spoke to HRD Canada on how organizations can effectively navigate recruitment in today’s world.
According to Bil, the context of recruitment in Canada has been rather fluid and saturated. There seems to be a shortage of employees, but organisations are quite adaptive to the changes See organizations doing quite well in dealing with the short coming which is lack of competent employees, and employers solving this by taking the technological approach in the case of recruitment.
This is done by; enlarging the employer branding posture and following equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). There is a tactical approach in talent acquisition to address the HR needs with the vision and mission of the companies and using technology in the hiring processes to capture statistics.
However, challenges remain. Some recruitment departments often work in isolation, and since the latter has a high KPI and many vacancies, the work is carried out in a rather reactive manner. Many small employers do not have the human resource department which may help them to deal with turnover and other related issues.
Bil also saw skills management in terms of the need to create well establish employer brands to foster the recruitment of the right talent that would ensure the development of core teams for any business to succeed.
