Kamala Harris Criticizes Trump’s Policies, Warns of Potential Future Risks

Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States has recently spoken very harsh about the previous president, Donald Trump, primarily addressing his efforts aimed at the complete elimination of major social programs, and national security issues. Harris said that Trump wanted to defund Social Security, Medicare, and the ACA – essentials that hundreds of thousands of people need. She pointed out his part in torpedoing a bicameral plan to address border security and egging on the January 6th insurrection, in her view, eroding the pillars of the U. S. constitutional system.

Harris did not spare Trump too and accused him of filling the Judiciary with Supreme Court justices who helped to chip away reproductive rights for women, including the famous Roe v. Wade. This, she says, is in line with a larger narrative to reverse the gains made on issues to do with women and reproductive health.

Harris said on the national security side of things a second Trump term will only cause more fragmentation. She accused him of undermining NATO by providing a green light to its adversaries, including Russia, on the issue. She also had concerns about Trump’s proposal for a consumption tax that would replace the corporate tax; and the president’s disrespect for democratic institutions such as threatening to jail reporters.

In her statements, Harris focused on the possible adverse consequences that another Trump’s presidency signifies noting that American should think about the future. She has been among the increasing voices of the Democrats to express concern on the impending return of Trump to the oval office.
