Smoke from Canadian Wildfires Drifts Towards U.S. Raising Health Concerns

Canada’s wildfire jolted into action and hot air masses have impressed billows of smoke over the United States. There has been fire disasters in the last years in Alberta and British Columbia such as those caused by the lightning, aggravated by the constant drought that has ravaged more than 4 million acres of land. These fires this year is going to surpass the annual five million acres. 
 
 The Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center has extended the foresight level of preparation to level 5 in the scale 1-5 meaning that there is a massive level of fire danger and that forces from other countries have been put on alert. It is now drifting southwards and impacting the Midwest, the Great Lakes, and the Northeast of the U. S. where air quality and health are big issues. 
 
 Record high temperatures in the northwest territories and British Columbia have made it even worse. Lately, it is reported that, Alberta has 136 ACTIVE FIRES and British Columbia has 176 ACTIVE FIRES most of which are in northern territory. Wild fires are raging in Saskatchewan where 96 fires have been recorded in the north-central part of the province. 
 
 Changes are anticipated on weather condition in North America that will cause the smoke to move to the U. S. ; however the extent and period of effects are unknown. This scenario, therefore, calls for efficient wildfire management, and readiness in order to safeguard health and safety in such environment disasters.
