There has been a new feature that has been unveiled by Spotify whereby people in the UK can now watch e-learning video courses through the app.
There are many courses that are available and range from learning how to be a DJ, song writer and even learning how to record music. These lessons are in Full HD and from credible learning affiliates including BBC Maestro, PLAYvirtuoso masters, SkillShare, and Thinkific. This is due to the fact that each of the partners brings to the table his or her area of specialization hence there is a wide coverage of the areas of learning.
The courses are grouped into four main themes: These are tasks such as; ‘Make music’, ‘Get creative’, ‘Learn business’ and ‘Healthy living’. Users can browse through these categories to be able to find a course that they want to take. For this reason, the full courses are currently set at £20 to £80 while the service provides two samples for each course for guest use.
Available in the mobile and the desktop version of the app, this feature is Spotify’s attempt at entering the educational segment after the company recently added music videos. According to the head of Spotify product, Mohit Jitani, this endeavor is directed to assist the numerous creators to gain reach the maximum number of potential audiences and for the users to discover new ways through which they could interact with Spotify.
This development shows that Spotify has been keen to grow and diversify this interactive content which puts it beyond simply being a music streaming platform.
