WhatsApp Surpasses 100 Million U.S. Users

Surprisingly, according to the Meta boss, Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp has over 100 million MAUs in the United States alone. This is the first time that the company has provided the user numbers that are exclusive to the United States; this demonstrates the growth of a rather new messaging app that is still actively experiencing the dominance of both SMS and standard texting.

Currently, WhatsApp has been a global dominant application with more than 2 billion monthly active users; it has previously targeted mainly developing countries such as India, Brazil and Indonesia. It, however, powered through a more aggressive marketing message in the U. S in recent past that touted privacy, end-to-end encryption, and cross-cloud compatibility. Most remarkably, with regard to the USA specifically, more than a half of all users of the application have iPhone which correlates with almost undeniable control by the country of the overall market share of iOS.

The campaign has also involved billboards in time square, television ads, and a campaign with stars from modern family show Modern Now Meta has active promoted the characteristics of WhatsApp differentiation feature from other platform such as apple’s imessage including high quality video calling, poll, and reactions among others.

To re-assert its devotion to user’s privacy and policy of ‘PLATFORM,’ Meta placed a 200-feet high bubble under the Apple and Samsung stores at The Americana Mall, Los Angeles. This daring staging is an evolution that forms part of the company’s continuous message to highlight the functionality of WhatsApp and assure customers it offers safe and secure means of messaging.

As Meta develops and breaks new ground, so it is with the continuing increase in the WHA usage in the U. S. It can be interpreted as the evolution of American communication as more and more people turn to safe and versatile messengers.
